One of the reasons we began this blog is to feature our wonderful city of Nashville. We not only want to feature the city, but also the vibrant event industry we have. Each month, we will be profiling a select vendor as one of the “Best of Nashville Events” and sharing their expertise as well as their favorite trends and delightful details. For our first profile, we are thrilled to feature The Loveless Barn. I sat down with Crystal Compton, the Sales and Events Manager, to discuss her favorite events at The Loveless and what makes them the “Best of Nashville”.
The Nitty Gritty on The Loveless Barn
Created in 2009 as an event venue space, The Loveless Barn has quickly become one of Nashville’s favorite event venues. The facility is located in West Nashville in the Loveless Cafe property which includes not only the Cafe, but also the Hams & Jams store, as well as their newest store, Lil’ Biscuits, which features clothing and treats for children as well as your pet. As Crystal says, “It’s like we’re in our own little community here with the shops and Barn.” While the shops and cafe are currently not rented out for events, event guests may still enjoy the shops during regular business hours.
The Loveless Barn itself is a truly one-of-a-kind venue in the fact that it can be expanded as large as you would like it to be. With two side patios, a small courtyard, and a large event lawn on the side of the Barn, The Loveless Barn can hold just under 1000 guests with all of the spaces being utilized. One of their most creative configurations is a strolling supper reception which utilizes the side patios for food stations and small seating, leaving the Barn for cocktail tables, seated tables, and the bar. This configuration can hold over 400 guests, which is perfect for many wedding receptions. If you’re looking for an intimate ceremony, they’ve got you covered there too! Their beautiful courtyard can host a small ceremony for around 200 people.
One thing The Loveless prides themselves on is clear, simple pricing for customers. According to Crystal, “We provide all of our customers basic pricing for our space, our rentals, as well as basic patterns of china, glassware, and flatware. This helps clients really understand what they are paying for vs. showing them $0.40 for each spoon.” What rentals does The Loveless Barn own themselves you may ask? They provide grey garden chairs, 72″ round tables, as well as eclectic items such as church pews for ceremony seating and a beautiful wood curved bar. With all of these amazing services at your fingertips, this is truly a one-stop-shop venue!

What Makes The Loveless Barn the “Best of Nashville”
While all of the details above are wonderful, what truly makes The Loveless Barn one of the Best of Nashville? “I think it’s because we will create the space the way the client wants it to be. We have the flexibility to create formal and informal events; and with beautiful lighting and draping, our venue comes alive in whatever style the client hopes for,” says Crystal. While there are many barn venues in Nashville, what makes The Loveless Barn special is that it doesn’t feel like a typical barn. For weddings and formal events, Crystal brings in a variety of vendors to provide chandeliers for the ceiling and beautiful white draping for the walls. These elements transform the Barn into an elegant reception hall.
Looking for a unique design, such as a trip to the Orient or a circus theme? The Loveless Barn team has experience creating both! “One of our large corporate clients wanted a trip to the Orient this year for one of their events. Though we are in a barn, we brought in paper lanterns, umbrellas, and costumed dragons to truly create the feel of the Orient. The event was such a success!” explains Crystal. The Loveless and their amazing staff will go out of their way to create the event of your dreams.
This customization isn’t just limited to décor though! While Loveless is famous for their fried chicken, biscuits, and traditional Southern favorites, their catering staff is skilled at all types of cuisine. According to Crystal, “We really love when a customer comes to us and wants something not typically found on our menu. We get to completely customize it for them!” The trip to the Orient event is just one example of their culinary prowess. For this event, The Loveless catering team created food stations featuring hibachi, Sushi, and other fresh Asian fare.
Finally, The Loveless Barn is the “Best of Nashville” because of the long history The Loveless Cafe has had in the city. “The Loveless is the perfect place for destination weddings because guests can come and get a true taste of Nashville in a beautiful setting,” explained Crystal. This history makes the venue perfect for memorable photo opportunities with family members, bridal parties, and guests.
Since our blog is all about delighting in the small details that make events truly memorable, we couldn’t leave without asking Crystal about some of her favorite delightful details she’s seen at recent events. She says, “I really love it when people bring personality to their event through small details that are truly custom to them.” Crystal’s favorites include: black crepe paper used as linen that brides then use to write their menu in chalk; creative guestbooks, including a photo of the bride and groom printed on a guitar that guests signed; and also a Slip-N-Slide featured at a corporate company picnic! Delightful details truly bring any event to life!
We’d like to thank Crystal and the staff at The Loveless Barn for their time. If you haven’t seen this incredible venue yet, contact Crystal to schedule a tour. Also make sure to follow The Loveless Barn on Facebook and through their blog!
