DIY Heart Napkin Fold

Image-1

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’re bringing you a tutorial – DIY Heart Napkin Fold! We took full advantage of this napkin fold on our February display table. This heart napkin fold would look great on your sweetheart table for Valentine’s Day, or even for a baby shower! Here’s how we did it:

1) Set your square napkin out on a flat surface.

2) Fold the napkin in half to create a triangle – the two opposite points will be joined together.

IMG_9778

3) Fold each of the long corners up and to the middle point.

IMG_9779

IMG_9780

4) Tuck each of the top points under slightly to create a heart shape, leaving the back piece up.

IMG_9781

5) Gently flip the napkin over.

IMG_9782

6) Fold the top point down so it touches the bottom point.

IMG_9783

7) Flip the napkin over one more time. You will see the heart begin to take shape.

IMG_9784

8) Tuck the side corners under so the sides have a curved look. And there you have it – a heart napkin fold!

Here it is styled on our February table scape:

DIY: Bottle Brush Christmas Trees

diy bottle brush trees

Liberty has been in the holiday spirit for a while now – fulfilling many orders for corporate holiday parties and more! So for our December table scape, we wanted to create a DIY centerpiece to match our new nude glimmer linen. After scouring the internet, we came across these pretties: Ombre Bottle Brush Trees!

anthro trees

Although they are available for purchase, we wanted to try our hand at making them ourselves (and putting our own unique spin on it). Take a look at our step-by-step guide to DIY Bleached Bottle Brush Trees:

Here’s what you’ll need to create the trees:

IMG_9053

Assorted Pine Trees (I used these found on Amazon)

Bleach

Fork or Tongs

Big Mixing Bowls

Cookie Sheet

Paper Towels

Colander

Dish Gloves

Apron

Remember – you are working with bleach in this project. Be very careful with your clothes and items around the trees and bleach bowls. Also, please properly dispose of the bleach when you are finished with it. 🙂

1) Fill the mixing bowls with 80% bleach and 20% water.

2) Carefully drop the trees into the mixture one by one with your fork or tongs.

IMG_9055

3) You will then see the bleach mixture start to turn green. Continue to move the tree around in the mixture so all sides have been equally soaked.

IMG_9056

4) Add more trees to the mixture. Let them sit for 3-5 minutes in the solution (use your own discretion on how white you want your trees).

IMG_9057

5) While your trees are soaking in the mixture, line your cookie sheet with paper towels. Once your trees are your desired color, pull them out with your tongs or fork and place them on the cookie sheet to dry.

IMG_9058

6) Once your trees have dried for a few minutes, place them in a colander using the tongs and rinse them under warm water in your sink.

7) Place them on some more paper towels to dry on your counter. I let mine dry overnight and let them dry on an old towel just to make sure it wouldn’t discolor any fabric I set them on.

8) Style them on your mantle, table, or any little nook in your house! Here’s our take:

In the end, we chose not to use the glitter on the trees since our table was very sparkly already. But we may end up re purposing them next year 🙂

We hope you enjoy this festive little project! Show us your DIY Bottle Brush Trees in the comments!

Peace & Joy,

Dia de los Muertos Theme – October Table Scape

Happy October! For this month’s table we decided on bold and bright colors to go with a Dia de los Muertos theme! We are loving the look of sugar skulls and decided to incorporate this into the decor. With the help of our good friends at Paper Source, we opted for sugar skull banners, centerpieces and our favorite – paper flowers! We topped the modern look off with our Chicago Glasses, Square China, Gunmetal Chairs & more. Check it out!

Liberty Party Rental’s Loft at Houston Station

Back in April, our friends at Houston Station hosted an Open House! It was here that we proudly debuted our new space The Loft at Houston Station! Take a look at our before & after pics!

Here’s what our space looked like before – a very blank canvas!

And here’s how we transformed it!

IMG_5716

We chose Ikea and West Elm shelving to display all of our china, chargers, glassware and flatware. Plus, notice the beautiful teacup & flatware chandelier from Hester & Cook!

IMG_5717

We were so inspired by a display at West Elm and whimsical design photos on Pinterest that we had to try the chair wall hangings ourselves!

IMG_5718

We went with a sage and coral themed farm table mixed with some of our vintage inspired china.

IMG_5720

Our miss-matched china display was the perfect backdrop for our 4′ white wooden bar!

IMG_5732

The rustic metal door serves as a great focal point for our Radius and Axis lounge furniture!

IMG_5734

Rustic wooden ladders were purchased from the Nashville Flea Market as a display for our wide variety of napkins and chair ties!

IMG_5735

Loving the chevron pattern shelving against the china display!

IMG_5736

You’ll see our initials LPR all over The Loft – including our gold DIY marquee letters!

IMG_5737

Barn wood frames with gold burlap and lace completed the look for our flatware display!

How To: DIY Gold Glitter Centerpiece Bottles

Over here at Liberty, we are loving everything gold, shiny, and glittery! When the opportunity came to decorate a display table for an event, we let the glitz and glam loose! How did we do it? By spray painting and glittering bottles gold! Check out our DIY Gold Glitter Bottle Tutorial:

DIY Gold Glitter Bottles

What you’ll need:

Newspaper or Dropcloth

Gold Glitter

Gold Spray Paint

Empty Jars and Wine Bottles

Spray Glue (we used Elmer’s Spray Adhesive)

Tape

Paper Towels

Gloves

Medium to Large Bowl

1) Start by laying down some newspaper and spray paint each bottle. Remember to hold the spray can far away from the bottle to get an even coat. Let them dry.

Gold Bottles1

2) Next, fill the bowl with your gold glitter. Take a bottle and spray it with your adhesive spray and lift it into your glitter bowl. Sprinkle the glitter generously over the entire bottle. You can respray some spots you’ve missed with your adhesive spray and re-glitter. Set aside on newspaper when done.

Gold Bottles2

3) Now, if you want to get fancy with it, tape a paper towel around a bottle and leave a few inches showing at the bottom. Make sure your paper towel line is straight. Spray just the bottom with your adhesive spray then coat with gold glitter. Let dry then remove paper towel.

Gold Bottles3

4) Voila! You now have a fancy collection of gold glitter centerpiece bottles!
