For this month’s table scape, we had the privilege of working with the fabulous Darby Cards on menus, place cards, table numbers and invitations to go along with our bright geometric theme! To top it off, mother-daughter photographer duo Kelly + Logan Photography helped us out with some great photos of our products! Plus, we added in some Five Daughters Donuts to add to the bright and fun theme! Take a look!
If you saw our post on Navy and Coral Wedding Inspiration, then you may have noticed our gold geometric hanging planters in the window. Did you know they’re made out of strays? Yep, we DIYed those! Here’s the how-to:
Straws (Gold or whatever pattern you’d like)
String or Twine
Spray Paint (optional)
1) Cut straws to desired sizes – I cut one in half to make the top triangle portion and used two full-size straws for the bottom. String them in order on your twine and tie a tight knot at the top.
2) String another diamond exactly like the first one onto your twine and leave string at the top. Tie the two diamonds together to make a 3D shape.
3) Cut smaller pieces and secure the mid-section. Tie double knots at each point before adding the next straw onto the string.
4) Cut the loose strings on the ends except for the top hanging strings. Spray paint your desired color if you choose – be sure to cover every angle. 🙂

With the 4th of July, we wanted to incorporate some red white and blue into this month’s table scape, but we did it with a twist! We went with the classic navy blue and coral! Inspired by this classic watercolor wedding on The Perfect Palette, we scooped up our gold accents and interpreted the look Liberty-style.
We’re so excited to incorporate our new Moscow Mule Mugs into this look! The blues and golds combine to create a look where modern meets rustic. Stay tuned for a DIY tutorial on how to make the geometric air plant ornaments!
Light, fresh and airy is what we went for in this month’s table scape. Late spring/early summer calls for garden parties and outdoor events galore, so we decided to decorate our front table for an afternoon luncheon. Inspired by cool, calm Ralph Lauren blues and stripes, this table scape incorporates a few rustic touches into the classic look. The wooden embroidery hoops give a nod to vintage style while the burlap and wood elements bring in a fresh outdoorsy texture. Classic ivory and clean lines of the satin stripe linen provide a preppy touch to the table scape. And the invitations designed by The Paper Place bring the whole look together!

How would you design your outdoor luncheon table?
Starting off, we have a new twist on a Sparkling Lemonade. Our goal was to bring out the Gatsby for Springtime, so we used our Embassy Champagne Bowls plus some of our assorted china and topped it off with a spritz of lemon to do the trick! Plus Steeplechase is coming up – this drink is perfect for this outdoor Spring event!
Frozen Exposure was kind enough to let us take over their studio upstairs from our Green Hills location for this shoot. Next time you visit us in Green Hills, you need to go up to the 3rd floor and visit their studio – the glitter and unicorn decor is so fun and Tanya and Bobby are such amazing people! We’ve enjoyed getting to know them over the past few months.
Mark from RED was kind enough to carefully craft each cocktail for us. And with over 30 years of bar tending experience, needless to say, he knows what he’s doing! RED provided a mix of local and foreign alcohol for us to create these wonderful cocktails. We highly recommend visiting their shop in Belle Meade for alcohol for your wedding, event or even your home liquor cabinet. 🙂
Without further ado, here’s RED’s take on the Lavender Sparkling Lemonade Cocktail!
- 1/4 Cup of Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
- 1/8 Cup of Bang Candy Company Lavender Simple Syrup (They’re local!)
- 1 Bottle of Dry Champagne (we used Segura Viudas)
- Lavender Shavings or Sprigs
- Sliced Lemon for Garnish
Step 1: Pour the Bang Candy Company Simple Syrup into your glass.
Step 2: Pour the lemon juice into the glass. (We used our crystal creamer!)
Step 3: Fill the rest of the glass with champagne.
Step 4: Garnish with a lemon slice and lavender shavings.
Step 5: Wear your derby hat and sip your drink! 🙂
All cocktail recipe products used were straight from our Liberty Party Rental inventory including the Embassy Champagne Bowls, Square Bamboo Tray, Square White China Charger, Lilac Majestic Napkin, Crystal Creamer, Triangle B&B Plate, Small Square Appetizer Plate, and of course our 4′ black wood bar!
Stay tuned for more recipes throughout the year from RED, Frozen Exposure and Liberty!

This year we are featuring some of our friends in the Nashville wedding industry. And we chose to shine the light on Southern Sky Event Lighting to break the ice!
Without further ado, here’s our interview with JD!
What made you start Southern Sky Event Lighting?
I have background in lighting and have always done lighting with my DJ services. Working with many planners around Nashville, they started asking us to do more lighting at events. So in 2011, we started Southern Sky to provide more lighting options for brides and planners.
How many years have you been in business?
I started JD’s Music in 1996 – DJing weddings and events. And this year, Southern SKY is celebrating its 5 year anniversary!
What services do you offer?
Southern Sky offers many lighting options such as chandeliers in many sizes and shapes, string lighting, personalized gobos in any color, Edison bulb fixtures, and custom draping. We want our clients’ personalities to come across in our work whether it’s an elegant ceremony or a full-out dance party!
What makes Southern Sky Event Lighting stand apart from other lighting companies?
Not only do we offer lighting, but we do draping as well. We can accommodate for any client and can do it all – the SKY is the limit.
